Beware of suspicious emails falsely bearing the Company name, etc.Apr 6, 2015
Nisshin Steel Co., Ltd. and its world-wide suisidiaries and affiliates (collectively, “Nisshin”), have been made aware of various unauthorized correspondences being circulated via e-mail and in various other methods from individuals or organizations (collectively, “Scam Artists”) falsely identifying themselves as representatives of Nisshin. It appears that these Scam Artists are targeting unsuspecting individuals to act as representatives on behalf of Nisshin. We have strong reason to believe that these solicitations are a part of a larger fraudulent scam. These Scam Artists may seek to obtain money, bank or credit card information and/or other personal information from targeted victims. Nisshin has not authorized such Scam Artists to act on Nisshin’s behalf, nor does it have any affiliation with them. Nisshin is currently working with authorities to put a stop to these illegal and unauthorized acts.
Nisshin wishes to warn the public at large about these fraudulent activities being perpetrated purportedly in the name of Nisshin and would appreciate your letting us know any suspect communications of which you may become aware. Nisshin considers these fraudulent (often criminal) activities as a serious violation of its rights and intends to aggressively pursue all remedies available to it.
Nisshin strongly recommends that recipients of solicitations such as those described above exercise extreme caution. Financial loss and identity theft could result from the transfer of money and/or personal information to those issuing such fraudulent correspondences. Victims of such scams should also report all relevant information to their local law enforcement authorities for appropriate action.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
